Commingle

The Commingling Module commingles reports, typically mail pieces, across different types of documents. The Module concatenates and sorts disparate types of documents into larger sets of output to achieve greater zip code saturation for greater postal discounts. For example, a company that prints electric bills and phone bills could commingle both types of documents into a single set and sort the bills by zip code. The resulting set of commingled bills will achieve a greater postal discount than sorting and mailing the two bill types separately. The Module accomplishes the commingling by assembling the various input files into a single output file with consolidated indexing. It captures the indexes from the input documents and assembles them into a new master index that is then applied to the concatenated document as a whole.
